On the Nissan Silvia S13

Was back in 2014 one day in October if I recall. Saw an ad for a 93 240sx that had a sr20det.

I called the number and a woman answered in her Chilean Spanish which at times can be challenging

to comprehend. I somehow managed to speak with her and got directions to the house. It was in the

north side of town close to the shore of the Pacific Ocean and the chain of mountains providing

the backdrop for the desert city by the sea. I had honestly never contemplated a Nissan 240sx

back in the states. I knew of them of course and was never very impressed with the stock

KA24 engine which they came with in the states. This one was different. It sat low and had the

original bodywork clean with a few cosmetic issues. I met the owner; an affable guy named

David and he gave me the keys and we went for a drive. As we went onto the costanera along the

shore I  noticed the stiff clutch and the car wasnt running well....I'd floor it then all of a sudden

the boost hit and we blasted to redline with a fabulous wail from the SR and the blowoff

valve adding to the fun. I fell in love with the light weight, responsive chassis and loved

the look of the SR20det with its red valvecover and great accesibility to the engine. I've

had big V8s, straight sixes and many other engines but above all love a light weight rwd chassis

and had never owned a turbo car.....so this is gonna be fun!
